How to Scan Your MTG Collection & Spot Multi-Deck Card Conflicts on iPhone

Every Commander player eventually hits the same wall: you maintain six different EDH decks, you own one or two copies of high-value staples like Rhystic Study, Esper Sentinel, Cyclonic Rift, and your favorite fetch lands, and you can never remember which deck box currently holds which card before game night.

We built the ManaForge MTG iOS app on the Apple App Store to solve that exact problem - combining an instant on-device camera scanner with unlimited binder organization, multi-deck conflict tracking, and AI-powered Commander deck coaching.

Step 1: Scan Physical Cards with On-Device Camera OCR

Typing hundreds of card names into a spreadsheet by hand takes hours. ManaForge for iOS uses on-device Apple Vision and MLKit optical character recognition to identify cards the moment they enter your camera frame - even through inner and outer sleeves.

• Zero Server Lag: Recognition runs directly on your iPhone processor, allowing you to rapid-scan a trade binder or a newly opened box in minutes.
• Exact Printing & Foil Selection: Toggle between standard, borderless, etched, and foil printings while pulling live USD, EUR, and TIX pricing directly from Scryfall.

Step 2: Spot Multi-Deck Card Conflicts Across Your 99-Card Lists

When you import or build multiple Commander decks inside ManaForge, the app cross-references every 99-card list against your physical collection inventory.

If four of your decks include Ancient Tomb, Fierce Guardianship, or Misty Rainforest, ManaForge highlights the exact overlap count. Instead of constantly unsleeving and resleeving cards between deck boxes before heading to your local game store, you can keep your original copy in your trade binder and fill the remaining deck slots with 330gsm S33 black-core playtest sets.

Step 3: Tune Your List with AI Deck Coaching

Once your deck list is loaded, the built-in AI Deck Coach analyzes your mana curve, ramp density, card draw engines, interaction package, and win conditions against live EDHREC synergy data and MTGGoldfish archetype benchmarks. Even better, you can filter recommendations to prioritize cards you already own in your collection binders.
